The 4C error in Samsung washing machines is rather common, and you may encounter it on your machine. Continue reading to understand how to resolve the 4C error code.

Samsung top-loading washing machines display a variety of error or fault codes to notify users of potential problems with the machine. One such error number that you may have noticed on the screen is 4C or 4E. So, let’s look at how to deal with this problem code and quickly resolve it.

Samsung washing machine trouble code 4C

The error code 4C or 4E means your washing machine has discovered a problem with the water supply. This could indicate that your Samsung washing machine is unable to generate a water supply because the water supply hose is obstructed or kinked. And when that happens, you won’t be able to hear or see the water gushing out of the washer’s door glass.

The 4C fault code might appear at any time during the washing process, including while rinsing. The soapy water is entirely drained out at the conclusion, and there is no pure water flow.

Causes of the 4C error code

A 4C error can occur for a variety of reasons:

  • The system does not have any cold water.
  • There could be debris or a foreign object lodged inside the water inlet valve.
  • There could be an issue with the hot and cold water hookups. This could occur when you connect to the water supply system.
  • Water pressure is low or non-existent in the water supply system.
  • The hose isn’t attached to the detergent container.

Error code 4C on a Samsung washing machine – How to fix it

The first step is to switch on the cold water faucet and check for enough water flow. The water pressure should be between 0.5 and 8 bar, according to Samsung. You should turn off the appliance at the mains, pull the washing machine forward to provide access to the water hoses, and inspect the water hose attached to the washer for any kinks or bends. If the issue persists, search for the following two things:

  • Check for any leaks from the water supply tap, as this is a common cause of the 4C error.
  • Make sure the water pressure is high.

If the water pressure isn’t an issue, the warning could be caused by a clogged hose mesh filter. It’s simple to clean or replace. To avoid any build-up, clean the water hose mesh filter at least twice a year.
