Fans were outraged when page proofs of the upcoming 5 Seconds of Summer cover story in Rolling Stone were leaked online, with the Aussie band coming off like a bunch of entitled, groupie-shagging jerks.

In the article, Luke Hemmings is quotes as saying: “When you put four young dudes on a tour bus, playing theatres, then arenas, you’re going to have sex with a lot of girls.”;

Hemmings continue: “We had a good time.”; Multiple girls in one night, asks the interviewer? “Feel like I shouldn’t say,”; says a smirking Hemmings. “You could say the possibility of this is high. The possibilities are endless.”;


Outrage ensued, with the band’s loyal fans feeling 5SOS was sandbagged, with the hashtag #WeAreProudOfYou5SOS trending on Twitter.

Other fans, however, were hit hard by the story, expressing their disillusionment with the band, with one writing: “Why do i feel like the whole 5sos Rolling Stones article was taken way out of context and no one will confirm it for us?” Another fan hoped the article had been fabricated. “I really really hope that Rolling Stones article is fake BC if not then the reality of 5sos being nice guys is dead for real.”;

While the band has yet to comment officially on the controversy, guitarist Michael Clifford slammed the Rolling Stone story in a terse tweet:
