This project is actually from the start of the year, but we simply now finiburned it at the finish, ideal before night of the arts! It was definitely a discovering experience, and evolved from my initially vision of what the task was going to look choose. I wanted to execute something prefer I did in my freshmale Art I class, through Mrs. Elliott in high school (about 21 years ago!). In Mrs. Elliott"s course, we did a collage via magazine clippings, of points that represented us, and we colored the background through markers or colored pencils.

First thing I learned was, begin through smaller paper! The teacher I student taught for, reminded me to execute this via my older kids, and it"s lastly sunk in. Instead of a 12x18 piece of paper, we trimmed it down so there"s less to color!
Day 1: We started our collage. (When I do this job aobtain, I"ll do the portrait first!) I told them I wanted them to assemble their name with huge letters they find in the magazines. Then, I wanted them to cut out imeras and also other words that recurrent them.
Day 2: We did half of our confront. A various spin on the traditional self portrait I perform through them every year. This time, we do not need to obtain both sides exactly even! That"s really frustrating for them at this age, btw, is trying to get both sides to enhance specifically. Even though, I tell them it does not have actually to! I acquired the awesome concept from The Lost Sock, by Tabitha Mbody organ. She has a great tutorial on how to draw it!
Day 3: Glue face to collage, and color! We supplied markers for the background of the collage and colored pencils for the confront.
Here are some of my finimelted examples that they chose to be shown for our yearly Spring art show.

My name is Lauren, and here"s a little little around me....This my 1sixth year teaching art, (wow...16th!! Can"t believe that) and also I"m so blessed, and thank God, to have this remarkable job! In 2004 I graduated from APSU with a level in Art Education, and also in 2007 I completed my graduate level in Educational Leadership. Our institution is a Title 1, K-5 Elementary institution, so I gain to teach a wide selection of ages! These children are so sweet, offer such good effort, and are so talented, I had to develop a room wright here I could display their art. In my free time, I love spfinishing time with my household, and periodically make a little time for an archery tournament or two! Hope you reap their art as a lot as I do! You"re welpertained to attempt some of these jobs at home!
