Many users encounter LG dishwasher error code OE at some point in their lives. What is it and how to fix it. The dishwasher always stops before completing its cycle and displays the OE error. Follow the article to find out the cause and how to fix it!

The OE Error Code Simply Indicates That The Water Isn’t Draining.

The OE error on your LG dishwasher means that the water in the appliance isn’t draining properly during operation cycles (the various cleaning cycles you’ve specified).

The first step is to turn off the equipment so you can inspect the components for possible solutions. The LG dishwasher error code OE might emerge for a variety of reasons.

  • The filtration system has become clogged.
  • The waste spigot is blocked up.
  • There’s an issue with the dishwasher’s drainage.

To figure out what’s generating the error, look into each of these possibilities.

Check Your LG Dishwasher’s Filters

If the filters are blocked, clean them to eliminate any food or debris that has accumulated. Over time, food residue might become caught in the filters. Especially if you frequently use the dishwasher. This can cause the drainage system to get clogged, resulting in the OE error code. Remove the bottom rack of your dishwasher and turn the spray arms till they’re out of the way, allowing you to access the filters underneath them.

Drain Hose Is Clogged Or Kinked

A clogged or kinked drain pipe is also a possibility. If this is the case, inspect the drain lines and straighten them out if they are kinked. If the lines are frozen, it may be necessary to leave the dishwasher disconnected for a while until they thaw. When the dishwasher is turned on, simply straightening out the drain hose allows the water to flow smoothly again.

If this was the source of the fault, the code should disappear the next time you plug the machine in to restart it. Make sure you hold on to the drainpipe before reinstalling the dishwasher. When you push the machine back into its compartment beneath the countertops, this will help prevent it from kinking.

If you’re dealing with a longer hose that will sit below the dishwasher, you’ll want to take your time bringing it back into its compartment (housing area). If it kinks while you’re reinstalling the dishwasher, you’ll be dealing with the identical OE error code issue in the near future. To avoid this problem from recurring in the future, work slowly when pushing the dishwasher back into its compartment.

Clog in the Spigot

Check for obstructions in the spigot as another option for resolving the LG dishwasher error code OE. With a hammer, remove the knock-out plug from the spigot (or another forceful object).

Make sure the plastic debris isn’t lodged within the spigot, as this will prevent you from checking for clogs or anything that may have become stuck over time. Using the exertion you’re applying inward, you can force any items that are dislodged in the spigot out with a hammer and screwdriver.

Drain Pump Inspection

You should also examine the drain pump to determine if it is working properly. To do so, turn on the dishwasher and then push the spin key until it reaches the highest speed setting on your LG dishwasher (this might vary based upon the model you own). The spin-alone cycle will then commence after you hit the start/pause button on the dishwasher.

If you hear a buzzing sound when doing this test, it means your drain pump motor isn’t working properly. This will cause water backups and the dishwasher’s inability to drain water effectively. If you hear a hum, clean the drain pump filter and run the tub clean cycle on your dishwasher.

If the issue was a clog in the drain pump, this could be the solution. If your LG dishwasher’s motor has died, a replacement part may be required to get it working again.
