LG washing machines PE Error is rather prevalent, and it’s very possible that you’ll run into it. Continue reading to understand how to quickly resolve the PE problem code.
A PE error is displayed on the LG front load washer’s pressure switch, which is used to indicate how much water is in the machine. It basically means that the water level sensor isn’t working. And, while diagnosing or resolving the problem may appear tough, it isn’t. If you’re willing to take the time, you may check for a few things before replacing any OEM parts or disassembling your LG washer.
LG washing machine has a PE fault
When your LG washing machine displays a PE error, follow these steps:
- For a few seconds or a minute, unplug the washer.
- Restart the wash cycle by reconnecting the washer to the power source. The PE error code should now be fixed.
If the PE issue persists, you can attempt a few more troubleshooting steps. A PE error number on your LG front loading washing machine could be caused by one of two things, as discussed below.
PE error code on LG washing machine – Wiring issue
It’s conceivable that there’s a wiring issue with your LG washing machine if you’ve been getting a PE error. Simply inspect the wiring harness that connects the water level pressure sensor to the main control board.
- Make that the wiring harness isn’t loose, broken, or malfunctioning due to a burn.
- Use a multimeter to check if the wire harness is providing proper continuity.
- If the harness wire connecting the water level pressure sensor to the main control board is damaged, it should be replaced.
If you can achieve continuity and the connection is secure, you can move on to the second possible cause.

Faulty water level pressure sensor – LG washing machine PE problem code
When the wire harness is secure, your water level pressure sensor is most likely defective and should be cleaned or replaced.
- To begin, check sure the water level pressure sensor is clean and free of hard water or debris.
- If the water level pressure sensor is dirty, it will most likely display a PE fault. As a result, you must remove the sensor from the washing machine and thoroughly clean it to remove any hard water or debris.
- After you’ve cleaned it, you’ll need to test it by putting it back in the washer. If the machine continues to function normally without a PE fault code, the problem has most likely been resolved. If the sensor proves to be defective, you can replace it with a new one. Check to see if it’s an OEM part.
