—Perseus Charos POV—
Perseus blocks the midnight blade with his own before striking back with a blow of his own. His strike is blocked as well and the assailant responds with another strike. Perseus slides under the strike and places the tip of his blade against his attacker”s throat. He feels a prick against his own neck and looks down to see his attacker has placed a knife against his neck.
Perseus smiles at his attacker and she smiles back at him. “Well fought, Perseus. You are now my equal in melee fighting. I know your power matches mine as well.”
Perseus returns his sword to the darkness he crafted it from and smiles at the woman. “Thank you, Nyx. I wouldn”t be as powerful as I am now if it wasn”t for your help.”
The woman smiles back. “Of course you wouldn”t. I am one of the best fighters to ever live.”
Perseus smiles before muttering under his breath loud enough that Nyx can hear what he says, “And you”re very humble too…”
Nyx playfully slaps his shoulder, “Oh, quiet you. I am a Primordial after all; of course I have an inflated ego. And you can”t talk Perseus. You certainly aren”t one to tone down your accomplishments, a trait I am sure you learned from me.”
Perseus shakes his head, a smirk on his face. “Oh, come on, Aunt. We both know that we are each the strongest of our respective species.”
Nyx smirks as well. “True. I guess that indicates that darkness is the strongest element.”
Perseus nods. “Of course it is. Darkness exists in much more abundance than anything else, even light.”
Nyx nods and the two begin to walk towards Perseus” palace in silence. “I have good news for you, Perseus. My brother Tartarus estimates that this prison won”t be able to hold you for any more than one more year. I suggest you talk to your siblings and begin preparing yourselves for your revenge.”
Perseus nods, a cold expression appearing on his face. “Excellent.” He summons his famous sword made of purified darkness, forged in the flames of eternity and imbued with the power of Erebus and Nyx. “I will be right back, Nyx. I need to talk to Lord Tartarus.”
Nyx nods and Perseus vanishes into a portal of liquid darkness.
Perseus appears in the palace of Tartarus and walks into the throne room. “Uncle, it is good to see you.”
The Lord of the Pit smirks at his nephew, “You too, Perseus. What can I do for you?”
“I was wondering how we titans will be able to leave this place?”
Tartarus nods his head, “An excellent question. Your brothers and sisters will be able to slowly stream out of this prison over the next year, from the least powerful to the most powerful. Unfortunately, you and your brother Kronos are too powerful to return the normal way. The two of you must find a mortal host to inhabit until you gain enough power in the mortal plain of existence to sustain your true form. Once you have enough power, the mortal body you inhabit will burn away and you will be unstoppable. You should be able to choose your mortal host whenever you are ready. You will need to make your host bathe in the River Styx soon after entering the body or the mortal will die trying to contain your power. As for what powers you will still possess, Kronos should still have some minor control over time and you should still have power equal to that of a minor god over darkness and death due to your overwhelming power level.”
Perseus sighs, “I was afraid you were going to say that. I will talk to Kronos about that now. Thank you, Uncle.”
The Lord of the Pit smirks, “Anytime, Percy.”
Perseus groans, “You know I hate being called that.”
The Primordial smirks, “I know.”
Perseus sighs and opens another shadow portal back to Nyx. “So, what were you talking to my brother about?” She asks.
Perseus sighs and tells her what he had learned. Nyx looks at him, a look of sadness displayed on her pale features. “Do you know who you are going to inhabit?”
Perseus shakes his head, “No. I am going to talk to Kronos right now to discuss just that.”
The two fall into silence before Nyx says, “So this is goodbye for now, huh?”
Perseus nods his head sadly, “It seems that way. I will miss you, Aunt Nyx. You are by far the closest thing to a friend I have. I have plenty of family but you are the only one I feel I can be my self around.”
Nyx looks at him, a small smile appearing upon her face. “I feel the same way, Perseus.”
Perseus shakes his head, “For you, it will always be Percy, Nyx.”
Nyx nods her head and before Perseus can do anything, Nyx has thrown her arms around him, hugging him tightly. Perseus quickly hugs her back. Perseus is not a tall titan and so he and Nyx are around the same height. Nyx”s head rests on Perseus” shoulder while Perseus”s face is buried in Nyx”s silky, black hair.
The two enjoy the feeling of being in each other”s presence for a few more minutes before Perseus pulls back. “I don”t know what I am going to do without you, Nyx. I have grown accustomed to your presence over the past two millennia.”
Nyx nods her head. “I will miss you too, Percy. You better not get yourself injured or I will have to break the Ancient Laws my father created to protect you.”
Perseus smiles sadly at her one last time and opens a portal behind himself. “Goodbye Nyx.” He says and steps through the portal.
“Goodbye Percy,” Nyx whispers to the now empty space.
Perseus appears in the throne room of his palace and strides purposefully towards his brother”s quarters. When he reaches them, he knocks on the golden door with a clock displayed on the front of it.
Kronos opens the door and says, “Why are you here brother?”
Perseus gestures towards Kronos” room. “May I come in?”
Kronos inclines his head yes and Perseus walks in. “I talked to Lord Tartarus today. You and I need to begin the first part of our plan tonight. According to Tartarus, we need to both find a mortal to be our host. After we choose and make the essence transfer, we will need to bathe the mortal bodies of our hosts in the River Styx or they will burn away trying to contain our power.”
Kronos nods his head in understanding, golden eyes flashing in anticipation. “Before we do that, we need to make sure our siblings understand their part of our plan.” Perseus says.
Kronos nods and follows Perseus out of his room and into the hallway. The two titans walk back to the throne room where Perseus sits in the largest throne that sits in the middle of the semi-circle of thrones. It is a massive black throne, etched through with rubies. Next to that sits a golden throne with diamonds embedded in the gold.
The two brothers sit down and Perseus closes his eyes, concentrating on the auras of his siblings. He summons them and then opens his eyes, watching as one by one, all of his siblings arrive. “Why have you called us, Perseus?” Mnemosyne asks.
Perseus rises from his throne, red eyes flashing with power as he says, “The age of the titans is returning, dear siblings. In fact, Kronos and I leave for the surface later this evening. We just need to pick our hosts and then we will begin to prepare for our invasion.” Perseus turns to face Phoebe. “Dear sister, can you foresee which hosts the two of us should use?” He asks.
His sister nods, closing her eyes and concentrating. A moment later, she opens her eyes and says. “Alright, Kronos, I suggest you use a Son of Hermes who goes by the name of Luke Castellan. And Perseus, I suggest you use a Son of Poseidon named Perseus Jackson.”
The room quiets at that. “Perseus, you say?” Perseus asks.
Phoebe nods. “Yes, brother. He is normally called Percy though.” She says with a smirk.
Perseus groans and his siblings laugh at him.
The throne room falls silent until Perseus says, “Alright, my brothers and sisters. Kronos and I need to get going. During our absence, Hyperion will act as my regent. You all know the plan. Do not vary from that plan unless it is absolutely necessary.”
Kronos teleports away and Perseus goes to follow him but is stopped by Rhea. “Perseus, how do we know for certain that we can win this time?” She asks.
The King of the Titans smirks coldly, “Because, this time, you have me.” He says as an aura of power erupts from him, matching that of an aura of a Primordial. “And the gods do not know I exist. They probably assume Kronos is the King as he ruled in my absence.”
All the titans in the room shiver at the aura but Rhea manages a smile, “Good point, brother. Good luck. Keep Kronos safe for me.”
Perseus nods, “Of course, dear sister.” He says and teleports away.
When Perseus exits his portal of darkness he notices his brother already kneeling and beginning the preparations for a transfer of consciousness. “Good luck, brother. I don”t know what your plan is but I plan on pretending as if I got my mind-wiped and I have forgotten nearly everything.” Perseus says.
The Titan of Time nods his head and says, “You too, Perseus. We will win this war and my children will face the consequences for their betrayal. I also plan on pretending to not remember anything.”
Perseus kneels down next to his brother and closes his eyes. He focuses his vision on the mortal plain of Earth and zooms in on the location of Percy Jackson. He finds him in to woods of a place called Camp Half-Blood and he nearly laughs when he sees who Percy is talking to. Across from him sits Luke Castellan.
Perseus focuses on draining the aura from his current body and transferring it into the boy. Perseus feels the reality he has lived in for nearly 2,500 years disappear around him as he transfers his consciousness. The subconsciousness of the Son of Poseidon tries to stop Perseus” mental invasion but he is overpowered in mere seconds and Perseus takes control of his new host.
Perseus wakes to find himself in a bed with a pair of worried grey eyes looking at him. “Good. You”re awake. You scared me, Seaweed Brain.”
Perseus has to use all for his self-control to not kill the girl with a thought but she that would reveal him. “Sorry…Who are you?”
The grey eyes fill with worry the moment those words leave his mouth. “I…I…I”m your girlfriend, Percy.”
Perseus internally scoffs. “As if I would what this Demi-God be my friend, let alone anything more. I do not want anyone.” After Perseus thinks this, an image of Nyx”s pale skin and silky, black hair appears in his mind unexpectedly.
Out loud he says, “Umm, I think I would remember if I had a girlfriend.”
The grey eyes look at me in a calculating way before she calls out, “Chiron, Percy is awake. We have a problem though.”
A moment later, a man with the lower half of a horse and the upper half of a man walks in. “Ah, Perseus. You are awake. You had us worried, my boy.” He turns to face the girl, asking. “What seems to be the problem, Annabeth?”
Before Annabeth can answer, Perseus says. “Who the hell are you and why are you half horse?” Internally, he thinks, “Ah, Kronos” son with that nymph Philyra. He always did regret that after he married Rhea. He won”t like him being here.“
Chiron walks forward. “Percy, my boy. It”s me, Chiron. Or Mister Brunner?” He says.
I shake my head to both. Chiron sighs. “Annabeth, I was just coming to inform you that Luke is the same way. The two of them must have had their memories wiped in the woods last night.”
Perseus hears this and smirks. “So my dear brother successfully made his transfer too, huh?“
Annabeth asks Chiron, “What do we do about this? I assume we tell the gods. They will want to know that there is a being capable of wiping the minds of some of the most powerful Demi-Gods in the world.”
Chiron nods his head. “Yes. I will go Iris Message Lord Zeus. Annabeth, take Perseus and Luke to the medical cabin. They can rest there for now.” He says and walks out of the room.
Perseus feigns ignorance and says, “That guy was joking right? I mean, there is no way the gods are real!”
Annabeth looks at Perseus in such a condescending way that Perseus actually snarls. He quickly forces a yawn to hide his mistake before he hears Annabeth”s response. “I do not want to say this again. Yes, the gods are real. In fact, your father is one of the most powerful beings on this planet.”
Perseus once again feigns ignorance. “Who is my father?” He asks.
Annabeth sighs, “Di Immortales!” She curses. “Your father is the God of the Seas, Poseidon.”
Perseus fakes a look of shock and awe until Annabeth turns her back to him. The look falls off his face, being replaced by a look of disgust and loathing. He quickly neutralizes his facial expressions once more when Annabeth turns back to face him. “Can you walk, Percy?” She asks.
Perseus grits his teeth but nods. “Good. Follow me. I am taking you to the medical cabin.”
Perseus follows the girl out of a large house and onto a dirt path. Annabeth leads him to a cabin that is isolated from the rest. “In here. Another boy named Luke is already in here. See if the two of you can get along while I”m gone.”
Perseus nods and walks into the cabin. The cabin is small, with wooden walls and pictures of various gods and goddesses hanging on the walls. Another boy sits on a bed in the corner of the room. When Perseus walks in, the eyes of the boy shoot open and briefly glow golden before returning to their normal color. Perseus allows his eyes to flash red for a brief second to confirm his identity to his brother.
Kronos smiles at him and says, “Ah, I see your transference went well, Perseus”
Perseus nods. “As did yours.” He says.
Kronos smirks, “Was there ever any doubt?”
The two share a laugh. “Our plan has begun.” Perseus says.
Kronos nods, “Yes. Soon my children will die for what they did to me; to us.”
Perseus goes to respond but he is interrupted by a rustling sound outside of the cabin. Perseus quickly shadow-travels to the source of the sound and finds a young boy looking at Perseus in horror and anger. “You! You are a trait—”
The boy never gets a chance to finish his sentence as Perseus uses his domain over death to wish the boy dead. The soul of the boy is ripped from his body and floats through the ground, heading for Hades” domain.
Perseus shakes his head and with a tightening of his fist, the spirit of the boy dies too, never to be judged or live again.
Perseus quickly teleports the body into the River Phlegethon before returning to his brother. Kronos smirks. “Well, Perseus. Let us hope my children didn”t sense your power or the death of that boy.”
Perseus nods. “Yes, let”s hope. Although there is no evidence that anything happened to him. I destroyed him fully, soul and body.”
Kronos smirks, the eyes of Luke Castellan flashing gold briefly once again. “it is good to know we have you on our side this time, brother. Your absence last time was very unfortunate.”Perseus nods. “Yes. It is good to be here. I talked to Rhea about this but I haven”t told you this. The gods will probably assume you are the Titan King as they don”t even know I exist at the moment.”
Kronos smirks. “Very clever of you, brother. You are the ultimate weapon. You are the most powerful of us all, you have genius-level intelligence, and you have friends in very high places.”
Perseus nods. “That I do, brother. That I do.” He responds, an image of Nyx once again in his head.
