You are watching: Please power down and connect the pcie

Hey males I simply purchased a brand-new graphics card (a Gigabyte Geforce gtx 1060) and I've been trying to install it but it says that I have to connect the PCIe power cord. I've been in search of the best plug, however because I've never before really worked through the guts of a computer I'm really lost and also worried that my computer system can not have the ability to run this graphics card.

My computer system has these attributes currently:

AMD 970A Chip-set full ATX motherboard (All functions noted in box - method too many kind of for here!)

AMD FX Quad-Core 3.8 GHZ 'Babsence Edition' (unlocked) Processor

4 GB (2x2) DDR-1600 / PC3-12800 RAM Modules

2TB 7200RPM Hard Drive (Upgraded from original 1TB build spec)

6gb Gepressure GTX 1060

Cooler Master N300 ATX Case w/dual fans

585 watt ATX 12v Power supply

I'm really worried that my motherboard could not be compatible yet any type of assist at all would be appreciated in the direction of addressing this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Look at the graphics card, the side that's facing you once you open the case. There need to be a babsence item of plastic through 6 or 8 holes in it looking prefer one of these

That's wbelow the power requirements to go.

Look at your power supply. If you can, uncover all the cables that aren't associated to anypoint and kind of put them in a pile.

Look for a link via 6 outside parts on it, favor this or a 6 + 2, like this one

Once you uncover it, plug the cable right into the black plastic item through holes in it. While you can't plug it in upside dvery own, it is feasible to plug CPU power right into it by accident. Be careful
