Have you ever wondered what the icon on the display of your dryer means? This article explains the meaning of each icon found on Samsung dryers.
Child Safety Lock
Child Lock is enabled when this icon appears. Except for the Power button and the control knob, all buttons are locked.
Start with a pause
Delay Start is active when this icon appears. A cycle is set up to begin at a specific time.
Reminder about the Filter
After each load, this indicator appears as a reminder to clean the lint filter.
The hourglass indicator signifies that the current number on the screen represents the amount of time left in the cycle.
Turn off the light
This icon denotes that the signal sounds (which occur at the end of each cycle) have been disabled.
Bell for Mixed Loads
The Mixed Load Bell option is enabled when this icon appears. When the cycle is 80 percent dry, the Mixed Load Bell will sound. This indication will cause you to pause the cycle and remove the lighter, dryer clothes, allowing the heavier fabrics to dry completely before the cycle concludes. If you don’t halt the cycle, it will run normally, and heavier textiles may not be completely dry when it finishes.
Check the vents
This indicator indicates that the exhaust vent needs to be cleaned. If the exhaust vent is around 60% clogged, it will light up after or during a cycle. The symbol will blink for 3 hours after a cycle is completed if the exhaust vent is 80 percent obstructed.
The Steam option is enabled when this icon appears. During the cycle, water will be sprayed to create a steam effect while heating the laundry.
Smart Care is enabled when this icon appears. Smart Care recognizes and interprets problem codes on the dryer using the camera on a mobile device.
The dryer is linked to both the wireless network and a mobile device when this icon appears.
Depending on the model, the app utilized to connect to the dryer will differ. Most Wi-Fi models support SmartThings, but Samsung Smart Home or Samsung Smart Washer/Dryer may be required apps.
Progress of the Cycle
These indicators light up or blink to represent the cycle’s current state. Different models behave differently, but on most models, these lights will remain illuminated during the cycle, and the current state will blink.
